New Orleans Saints Speed Mini 1976 - 1999
The New Orleans Saints have worn the same fleur-de-lis on their helmet since the franchise's inaugural season in 1967, making theirs one of the most consistent helmet designs in NFL history. The 1976 version marked the last significant change to the classic look, when the franchise switched the facemask from gray to black and settled into the lighter shade of gold that would define the helmet for the next two-plus decades. This is the helmet Archie Manning wore through years of futility, the same design that sat on the sidelines while fans wore paper bags over their heads in the Superdome, and the exact look the franchise carried right through the end of the century before updating the fleur-de-lis logo itself in 2000 with bolder black outlines.
