Jacksonville Jaguars Authentic Speedflex 1995 - 2012
When the Jacksonville Jaguars entered the NFL as an expansion franchise in 1995, they brought with them one of the sharpest helmet designs of the expansion era: a clean black shell carrying a snarling jaguar head rendered in gold and teal, with a deliberately placed teal tongue that team owner Wayne Weaver included as a nod to the expansion Carolina Panthers. The original logo with its lighter gold shade and teal-accented eyes carried the Jaguars from their inaugural season through one of the most stunning early runs in expansion history, including back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances in 1996 and 1997. The design remained on the black shell through 2012 before a logo redesign and the controversial two-tone helmet arrived in 2013.
