The darkest version of the Red Raiders identity and one of the sharper alternate colorways in the Big 12 mini lineup. The Riddell Mini Speed Black brings Texas Tech to the shelf in an all-black shell with the double T decal in scarlet and white that flips the primary color relationship entirely, the scarlet detail cutting through the dark finish with exactly the kind of high contrast visual drama that makes alternate shell colorways worth collecting in the first place. Where the scarlet shell declares, the black shell commands.

Black shell variants earn their place in a collection by doing something the primary colorway cannot, and the Texas Tech entry makes that argument more convincingly than most. The double T in scarlet against black has a different energy than it does against the standard scarlet shell, sharper, more aggressive, and with a visual weight that draws the eye before anything next to it does. For Red Raiders collectors who already have the scarlet mini this is the piece that changes what the display looks like entirely.

Texas Tech has one of the more versatile color identities in the Big 12 and the black alternate demonstrates exactly how far that identity can stretch without losing itself. For collectors building across programs or anyone who appreciates a well executed alternate colorway, the Red Raiders black mini is one of the more compelling entries in the college football mini lineup at any conference level.
