Officially licensed Riddell collectible.

The black shell at full authenticity is the most commanding version of the Red Raiders identity Riddell produces. The Riddell Authentic Speed Black brings Texas Tech to the top of the collector market in an all-black shell with the double T decal in scarlet and white built to full game spec construction, the same standards as the helmets that came off the sideline when the Red Raiders wear the alternate on the field. At authentic level the black shell finish has a quality and precision that separates it immediately from anything in the replica lineup, and the scarlet detail against it at authentic spec lands with a sharpness and depth that the replica format approximates but never fully reaches.

Authentic alternate colorways sit at a specific and serious intersection in the college collector market. The combination of full authentic construction and a non-primary shell colorway tied to a program with one of the most passionate regional fanbases in the Big 12 creates a piece with a profile that the standard scarlet authentic approaches from a completely different direction. For Red Raiders collectors who already have the scarlet authentic this is the piece that sits apart from it immediately and changes the entire conversation around the display.

The weight, the padding, the shell finish, the hardware, all of it present at game level quality beneath the darkest and most aggressive version of the Texas Tech identity available in the Riddell lineup. For collectors at the serious end of the market who want every major colorway the Red Raiders have put on the field at full authenticity, the black authentic is the piece that completes that collection.
