Brookings has quietly built one of the most dominant programs in FCS history, and this black mini Speed captures the Jackrabbits at their most confident. The matte black shell gives the royal blue Jacks script with gold outline a backdrop that makes the two-color wordmark pop with a warmth and energy that the program's traditional yellow shell cannot replicate in the same way. The royal blue face mask pulls the script color forward onto the hardware, tying the helmet together as a complete design object, and the contrast between the flat black surface and the bright blue faceguard is one of the sharper hardware choices in the Missouri Valley Football Conference catalog.

At mini scale the Jacks script holds its cursive personality cleanly, the letterforms sitting with the same easy confidence the program has carried through multiple national championships. It is a helmet that rewards collectors who follow FCS football seriously and holds its own on any shelf that includes it.
