Where the script black helmet leans into elegance and nostalgia, this 2024 black mini Speed leans into structure and authority. The matte black shell carries the block P in gold outline against the dark surface, the angular letterform reading with a sharpness that the cursive script trades away for warmth. A gold and white crown stripe runs the length of the shell, adding just enough color contrast to keep the helmet from disappearing into itself, and the blacked-out face mask pulls the entire presentation into a unified, aggressive package that feels distinctly modern.

The two Purdue black minis are worth owning together precisely because they communicate different things about the same program. The script is Purdue with its history on its sleeve. This block P version is Purdue as it lines up on the field in 2024, harder-edged and forward-facing. At mini scale the gold outline P holds its geometry cleanly against the matte shell, and the crown stripe gives the top of the helmet a finish that the script version leaves open.
