The Pitt script is one of the great college football wordmarks, and on a white shell it gets to show exactly why. The royal blue cursive Pitt lettering with gold outline fills the panel with a warmth and personality that block letter treatments rarely achieve, the rounded letterforms carrying decades of Oakland history in every curve. A thin blue and gold crown stripe adds just enough structure to the top of the shell without competing with the script below it, and the matching white face mask keeps the presentation clean and unified from every angle.

Pittsburgh has one of the richer football traditions in the ACC, nine consensus national championships spanning from the leather helmet era through the Tony Dorsett years, and the script mark connects all of it. At mini scale the Pitt wordmark is particularly well suited, the cursive letterforms reading with instant recognition and the royal and gold color combination sitting as warmly against white as any two-color scheme in the conference.
