The real one. The Northwestern Wildcats Authentic Speed puts one of the Big Ten's most distinctive color combinations on Riddell's full game spec construction. The same shell, the same materials, and the same finish standard that separates the authentic tier from everything below it. Bold purple shell, Northwestern Wildcats decals in purple and black, and a face mask mounted with the hardware and tolerances of a helmet built for the field, not the display case. Officially licensed and built to the standard that defines the top of the Riddell collectible line.

At the authentic tier the Northwestern identity reveals itself fully. The purple finish carries a depth and richness that replica construction cannot replicate. The black graphics sit flush against a surface engineered to game standards with a precision and contrast that communicates authentic materials from the moment the helmet is in hand. The overall weight and presence of the helmet reflects a construction standard worthy of one of the Big Ten's most academically prestigious and competitively resilient programs — a school that has punched above its weight on the football field repeatedly and worn its purple and black with the quiet confidence of a program that knows exactly who it is. For the Northwestern collector who has worked up through the mini and replica tiers, the Authentic Speed is where the collection arrives.

Game spec. Purple and black. The standard.
