Since the franchise's inception in 1967, the New Orleans Saints have worn essentially the same helmet, a gold shell carrying the black fleur-de-lis that ties the team directly to the city's French heritage. The fleur-de-lis, a centuries-old symbol of French royalty, has remained the franchise's only helmet logo through nearly six decades of football, with only the shade of gold and the facemask color shifting along the way. It's one of the most consistent and recognizable looks in the NFL, a design the Saints have never strayed from even as nearly every other franchise has cycled through alternates and rebrands.
