Purple and gold, the founding era at full scale. The Minnesota Vikings Replica Speed 1961–1979 brings the original identity the franchise wore from its inaugural 1961 season through four Super Bowl appearances and the most celebrated defensive era in Vikings history to Riddell's Speed shell in full size form. The classic purple shell, the era correct Vikings logo configuration, and the face mask that defined Minnesota football through the Purple People Eaters dynasty and the Fran Tarkenton scramble years, all rendered at the scale where every detail of that founding era identity has room to land exactly as it should. Officially licensed and shelf ready, this replica delivers one of the most storied chapters in Vikings uniform history at full collector scale.

Full size is where the 1961 to 1979 founding era identity earns its place as the historical anchor of any serious Minnesota collection. The purple shell carries the weight and character of Carl Eller and Alan Page anchoring one of the most dominant defensive lines the sport had ever seen, of Fran Tarkenton scrambling out of trouble and threading the needle in ways that redefined what a quarterback could be, and of four Super Bowl appearances that gave Vikings fans some of the most memorable and ultimately heartbreaking moments in NFC history. For Vikings collectors who want the complete uniform timeline represented at full scale, or for anyone whose connection to Minnesota football runs through the Purple People Eaters era, this is the piece that starts the story.
