Miami Dolphins Authentic Speed 1997 - 2012
In 1997 the Miami Dolphins refreshed their logo for the first time in nearly a decade, giving the leaping dolphin bolder, more animated features, deeper orange on the sunburst, and navy blue shadows that added dimension to the teal body. The helmet-wearing dolphin remained, as it had since the franchise's founding in 1966, but the more expressive rendering gave the logo a livelier, more modern energy that aligned with the era it would carry through. This is the design on the helmet when Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown were running the ball in Miami, during the Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas defensive era, and the same logo the franchise wore all the way through 2012 before eliminating the dolphin's helmet in a complete redesign the following year.
