When the Rams returned to Los Angeles in 2017 after more than two decades in St. Louis, they made an immediate visual change to mark the occasion, switching the horn decal on their navy shell from Vegas gold to white and pairing it with a white facemask. The gold was gone, and the result was a dramatically cleaner and more minimal look than anything the franchise had worn before, a navy and white combination that gave the helmet an almost classical feel. The team wore this design through three seasons, including Jared Goff and Sean McVay's rise to Super Bowl LIII following the 2018 season, before the franchise's sweeping 2020 rebrand introduced the current royal blue shell with the split-horn design.
