Officially licensed Riddell collectible.
This is the one Barry Sanders wore. The Riddell Replica Speed brings the Lions' 1983 to 2002 look to full size, a Pontiac silver shell with the classic leaping lion decal in blue and silver that defined Detroit football through one of the most electrifying individual careers the NFL has ever seen. At full size the silver shell has a completely different presence than the modern blue lid, heavier in nostalgia, sharper in contrast, and instantly recognizable to anyone who watched this franchise in its prime.
The Replica Speed format is where the vintage colorway really earns its place. Mini replicas capture the silhouette but full size is where the silver shell and the classic decal work together the way they did on game day. On a shelf or in a case this one draws attention before anything next to it does.
Era specific full size replicas carry a different ceiling than minis. The collector who wants the Barry Sanders era helmet at display scale has one option and this is it. Availability on production runs like this one does not last and restocks are not guaranteed once Riddell moves on.
