The SpeedFlex raises the bar. The Riddell Authentic SpeedFlex brings the Lions' 2017 to 2023 colorway to the most technically advanced helmet construction in the Riddell lineup, a full NFL spec build featuring the signature flex panel at the front of the shell that distinguishes the SpeedFlex from everything else at the authentic level. Honolulu blue shell, leaping lion decals on each side, white face mask, and the kind of engineering detail that makes this the helmet of choice for players who demand the highest level of on-field protection the game has to offer.
The flex panel is the differentiator. It is not cosmetic, it is structural, and at authentic spec it is fully functional in the way it was designed to be. For collectors the SpeedFlex authentic reads as a more technically sophisticated piece than the Authentic Speed, a different silhouette, a different build story, and a different presence on a shelf or in a case. Side by side with the Authentic Speed in the same colorway the SpeedFlex makes its own argument immediately.
The 2017 to 2023 era covers the rebuild years that set the foundation for everything Detroit has become in the NFC. At SpeedFlex authentic spec in the Honolulu blue colorway this is the modern Lions helmet for collectors who want the most advanced version of the most current era.
