Detroit Lions | Riddell Mini Speed Replica Helmet | 2023 On-Field Alternate
Detroit brought the noise in 2023 and the alternate helmet matched the moment. This Riddell Mini Speed captures the Lions' on-field alternate colorway from their breakout season, an all-black shell with the leaping lion decal in blue and silver cutting through the dark finish. Clean, aggressive, and a sharp departure from the traditional Honolulu blue that has defined this franchise for decades.
The Mini Speed form factor does the design justice, Riddell Speed shell geometry rendered at roughly half the size of a full-size helmet, built to display rather than collect dust. This is a collector piece tied to a specific moment in Lions history, the 2023 season that put Detroit back in the national conversation as a legitimate contender and set the stage for everything that followed.
For Lions collectors this alternate sits in stark contrast to the classic blue and the silver throwback, rounding out a three helmet shelf display that covers every major chapter of the franchise. For anyone who watched Detroit in 2023, this one carries weight.
