Officially licensed Riddell collectible.
The breakout season at the top of the market. The Riddell Authentic SpeedFlex brings Detroit's 2023 on-field alternate colorway to the most advanced helmet construction Riddell produces, an all-black shell with the leaping lion decal in blue and silver paired with the signature SpeedFlex flex panel built to full NFL specifications. At authentic SpeedFlex level the black shell finish and the flex panel detail combine into a piece that has no equivalent anywhere else in the Lions catalog, technically superior to the Authentic Speed, visually distinct from anything in the standard colorway lineup, and tied directly to the season that put this franchise back on the map.
The 2023 alternate at SpeedFlex authentic spec sits at the intersection of the most sophisticated build Riddell offers and the most culturally specific moment in recent Lions history. Single season production runs at this level do not come back. When Riddell closes out the 2023 alternate SpeedFlex authentic that is the end of availability at this spec, this colorway, this moment.
For collectors already at the top end of the Lions catalog this is the piece that nothing else accounts for. The standard colorway SpeedFlex authentic covers the current era. The 2023 alternate SpeedFlex authentic covers the turning point. Both together is the complete argument for where this franchise has been and where it is going.
