Officially licensed Riddell collectible.
The breakout season at full authenticity. The Riddell Authentic Speed brings Detroit's 2023 on-field alternate colorway to NFL spec construction, an all-black shell with the leaping lion decal in blue and silver built to the same standards as the helmets that came off the sideline during the season that changed the conversation around this franchise. At authentic level the black shell finish carries a quality and precision that the replica lineup cannot touch, and the metallic lion detail against it lands exactly the way it did under the lights on game day.
The 2023 season was the turning point for Detroit and this helmet is the artifact that marks it at the highest level of fidelity available in the collector market. Authentic alternates are tied to a single season and a single production run. Once Riddell closes out the 2023 alternate at authentic spec there is no restock, no second run, no substitute. This is the only version of this helmet that matters for collectors who do not settle.
Paired with the classic Honolulu blue authentic and the 1983 to 2002 silver throwback authentic, the 2023 alternate closes out the most complete Lions collection possible at full authentic level. Three helmets, three eras, one franchise fully represented at the top of the market.
