Dallas wore white helmets during the franchise's earliest seasons starting in 1960, before switching to the now iconic silver shell just a few years later. When the NFL changed its rules in 2022 to allow a second helmet, the Cowboys brought that white shell back as a throwback alternate, debuting it on Thanksgiving Day against the Giants for the first time in nearly six decades. The design carries a single navy star, two navy stripes down the center, and was paired on the field with throwback navy jerseys, white sleeves, and white pants for a clean nod to the team's earliest identity.
