No era in Buffalo Bills history carries more weight than this one. The red shell with a white facemask debuted in 1987, replacing the blue facemask the team had worn since switching to red helmets in 1984, and it went on to anchor the most successful run in franchise history. This is the helmet Buffalo wore through four consecutive Super Bowl appearances from 1990 to 1993, an unmatched stretch in NFL history, with Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, and Andre Reed all suiting up under that same charging buffalo logo and blue, red, and white center stripe. The design held steady until 2002, when the franchise modernized its uniforms and moved away from the look that defined the K-Gun era.
