Buffalo Bills Authentic Speedflex 1965 - 1973
Long before the charging buffalo became the franchise's signature mark, the Bills wore the standing red buffalo on a white shell, adopted in 1962 when the team officially shifted to its red, white, and blue color scheme. This design carried the franchise through its earliest glory days, including back to back AFL Championships and the team's transition into the NFL in 1970, before retiring after the 1973 season, the same year O.J. Simpson became the first running back in league history to rush for 2,000 yards. In 1974 the standing buffalo gave way to the charging buffalo logo that fans know today, but this earlier mark remains a beloved piece of Bills history and has returned as a throwback alternate in select seasons since 2005.
